On May 2019, Panerai staged the “Survival Instruments for Modern Heroes” event at the Minsheng Art Wharf in Shanghai. For the impressive happening, the Italian luxury brand recreated an underwater labyrinth complete with aquatic creatures and deep sea caverns to highlight the potential of its diving watches and chronographs.

With a smart combination of interactive and animated installations covering more than 8'000 square feet, the installation simulated a 360° underwater experience that included sharks, shipwrecks, and other hazards and wonders of the deep. Area-17 Architecture & Interiors oversaw the project management of the whole realization, supporting the Panerai creative team through this extraordinary adventure.
