Tencent is a Chinese multinational technology company, among the world's top ones in the field. It is the largest video-game vendor and among the largest social media corporations. Credited as one of the world's most innovative companies, this naturally inspired Area-17 in envisioning the Tencent GBA Industrial Internet Experience Center as a place where the visitor can experience the extraordinary, rather than simply learning about a product or service. The showroom’s multimedia design is powered by WeShape (Beijing) Digital Technology Co., Ltd., which applied a variety of high-tech display equipment and interactive devices to shape a complete map of solutions connecting the physical to the digital world and to the cloud hyperspace.

The design concept represents the empty vastness of the universe, where the digital data ideally inhabit and where they create virtual flexible rooms by associating and dissociating. Data represent the energy, the causal principle of the cosmos as well as of the showroom’s sequential environments. Visitors will move through boxes as if delivered from the outer space, each one containing relevant information shaped in an unconventional manner. Moving from Tencent history and achievements to future scenarios, every piece of information, or product, or service, is translated into an experience and defines the visual layout of each box.

Three-dimensional timelines, interactive surfaces, multimedia contents, futuristic displays generate an engaging storytelling, which gradually discloses Tencent’s offer for the business market. A line made of light, representing the energy originating from digital data, guides visitors through the interiors and highlights the passage from one box to another, like an ideal gate to a different world showing different contents.
