Description
Following the success of the Naknor project, Hebei Good Hope Cape Logistics Co. LTD Group from Xingtai, south of Beijing, asked Area-17 to design its international logistic center, which serves the whole region.
Inalienable functional requirements usually generate an almost banal aesthetic and disposition of the structures. Here, this is completely overturned by the metaphoric meaning imposed by the offices’ volume, which is the visual and functional filter between the center and the ocean.
The architecture drew inspiration from sea giants that cross the oceans every day, both in terms of form and proportions. The suggestive view from the ocean reminds of one of these titans, docked in placid waters in a harbor and shrouded in fog, and brings back memories of adventurous sea stories.
