Description
A very young Italian fashion brand but already globally renowned in the fashion scene, Plan C, has opened its first international 100 sqm flagship store in Aoyama, an elegant district in Tokyo. Area-17 has developed and translated the original concept by Florentine-based artist Duccio Maria Gambi into architectural and exhibition elements.
At the center of the space, there is a set of monolithic elements in concrete, finished with squared laminate surfaces and brightly colored carpeting from the artist’s “Zuperfici” collection. Simple yet unexpected volumes all around form a sort of visual display that define the store’s functional areas with a continual flow.
The theme of contrasts and discordances moves from the collection through the interior design to a selection of vintage items by Carolina Castiglioni, owner and creative mind of Plan C. The color palette and furnishing are inspired by the brand’s Milanese showroom, a historic family owned palazzo that dates back to the 1960s by the Castiglioni family.
