Location: MILAN, Italy 750 sqm 2020
Client: Iris Ceramica Group
Type: Retail

The Iris Ceramica Group showroom in Milan is located in the city center, in an elegant building formerly occupied by a bank. The project by Area-17 Architecture & Interiors covers 750 square meters on three levels, each one with a specific functional vocation expressed through the interior design.

The ground floor opens to the city: it is a welcoming space, with a bar and a lounge area for business meetings and social encounters. The flexible exhibit area integrates display with other possibilities, such as events or site-specific interventions.

On the first floor the visitor experiences a different mindset. The spa-like central installation recalls public and private wellness centers, with a series of niches arranged around its sides presenting exclusive decorating solutions by the group’s brands. At the end, an urban-chic meeting room by Diesel Living with Iris Ceramica serves also as a coworking space.

In the cellar, the presence of the former bank vault offers an opportunity to create a space protecting something very precious: the Group’s archives and samples of its materials. Here, within an intimate environment, begins a personal conversation on the product, tailored on the client’s specific needs.

Designed by Area-17 to make the most of the modest proportions, this urban interior has a cozy and nonchalant appeal. The almost industrial atmosphere is warmed up by thoughtfully placed oriental accents. Textures and neutral colors create dynamic interrelations among the clean surfaces of the walls, ceilings, and roof.
