Location: HONG KONG, China 5'000 sqm 2011
Client: Novo Concept LTD
Type: Commercial

Novo is an innovative department store meant for a young audience that seeks an unconventional shopping experience. The spaces range from 1'000 and 5'000 square meters, and were designed for Megabox in Hong Kong, Yueda 899 in Shangai, and Grandview Mall in Guangzhou. They speak contemporary language comprised of technology, music, and cutting-edge design.

Commercial paths are punctuated with relaxation areas, where visitors can relax or socialize while waiting for the next performance that takes place in the event area. Wooden, metal, or fiberglass lacework membranes climb up the interiors, spreading alternatively on ceilings, walls, and façades. The Hong Kong 400 square-meter ceiling made of bended wood was entirely crafted at the factory, then pierced, divided into 20 square-meter modules, and finally reassembled on the worksite.
Federico Gigetti, Francesco Tarentini, and Paolo Giannelli developed Novo’s design in collaboration with Studio63 (Studio63 Architecture + Design copyright).

HONG KONG, China 90 sqm 2014

Designed by Area-17 to make the most of the modest proportions, this urban interior has a cozy and nonchalant appeal. The almost industrial atmosphere is warmed up by thoughtfully placed oriental accents. Textures and neutral colors create dynamic interrelations among the clean surfaces of the walls, ceilings, and roof.
