Area-17 oversaw the project management for the first Gold LEED Certified Panerai boutique. LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification concerning the whole building life-cycle, from design to materials to construction work.

With this store, the Italian brand officializes its commitment to an environmentally friendly design. Among several sustainable solutions, the boutique incorporates the QLEAR Intelligent Building Management System to monitor the indoor air quality and energy consumption in real-time.Officine Panerai Plaza 66 is located in the renewed Nanjing West road, the heart of Shanghai where the most prestigious international brands come together. The interior design of the store expresses a simple yet classic Italian style and relies on transparencies to enhance the location’s luminosity. All materials have been carefully selected according to the best tradition of the Florentine brand, to provide clients with a unique shopping experience.

In 2011 Luca Caprai created the first Cruciani lace bracelet, which has since become a pop icon in the contemporary luxury fashion market. His creations are inspired by the renowned private textile collection of his father, Arnaldo Caprai. When asked to design the new concept for the Asia-Pacific market, Area-17 drew inspiration from the idea of exhibiting a piece of Pop Art in a museum and designed a contemporary gallery like store, where exquisite masterpieces of “Made in Italy” are displayed.

Area-17 gave voice to the themes of the collection designed by Francesco Scianni through a design that evoked a rarefied Parisian atmosphere, as well as the sophisticated but understated elegance of French women.
