Centro Nuovo Flaminia is part of a wider urban renewal plan concerning the former “Magazzini Generali” area at the South-West of Brescia city center. It occupies 27'000 sqm, among which 7'000 are dedicated to a Coop supermarket. The shopping mall, designed by Area-17 and Inres, is the focal and vital point of a great park and recreation area.
Extracoop is the new format by Coop Alleanza 3.0, one of Italy’s largest retailers. It brings to life a new approach to the shopping experience in a supermarket. Inres and Area-17 developed a highly innovative layout to meet the needs of more aware customers with specialized stores in both food and non-food areas. The first three Extracoop opened in 2017 inside the greatest shopping malls in North-Central Italy.
ESP shopping mall in Ravenna doubles its size and services with a brand-new wing designed by Area-17 and INRES. 19'000 square meters, hosting 50 new businesses, makes of ESP one of the most relevant shopping mall in Italy, counting now over 100 stores. While harmonizing with the earlier architecture, the design is meant to provide strong visual evidence of the extension, to be read even on an urban scale.
MareMà is a shopping mall designed by Area-17 and INRES within Parco Commerciale Grosseto, a significant intervention of urban renovation of the area north of Grosseto.
On April 2016, the first Dispensa Emilia restaurant designed by Area-17 opened in an exceptional location: Il Centro, a brand new shopping mall built on the area of the former Alfa Romeo factory and one of the biggest malls in Europe.

The extension of the Val di Chienti Shopping Mall has been the occasion to rethink the very identity of the mall. The redesign by Area-17 and INRES moved from the need of having a more efficient circulation and a better accesses organization.
Area-17 and INRES renovated the methods of way-finding in the Coop shopping mall’s parking areas, using a simple yet effective design based on color.
The unique geographic location inspires the architectural style of Area-17 and INRES’ project for a shopping mall along the Adriatic coastal road. The design recalls the typical peaked roofs of harbor-side warehouses.
