A vintage touch gives new life to this stylish apartment designed by Area-17 in the city center of Budapest. Lujza apartment is located in the romantic Palace District area, where historic buildings and stunning aristocratic palaces can be found at every turn.

The bohémien atmosphere of the neighborhood inspired a renovation respectful of the original layout. A welcoming entrance opens into an airy living room flooded with light from the large windows on the József Boulevard. Behind this space three cozy bedrooms, all of them enhanced by some of the owners favorite
pieces and colorful accents.
Together with interior decorator Beatrix Torma, Area-17 have selected vintage furnishings mixed with touches of contemporary design. Old reclaimed wooden doors, original ethnic linens, exclusive vintage furniture patiently recovered in flea markets and international antiques shops harmoniously blend with the
contemporary touch of the rigorous kitchen and custom-made beds. Under the four-meters high ceilings a sophisticated palette of neutral shades dialogues with vivid colors: cobalt blue, purple, saffron yellow, lime green. The Hungarian herringbone laying geometry of the parquet unifies the spaces.
Everywhere, a tailor-made vibe flows, telling about the excellence of craftsmanship and the designers’ meticulous attention to details.
