The unique geographic location inspires the architectural style of Area-17 and INRES’ project for a shopping mall along the Adriatic coastal road. The design recalls the typical peaked roofs of harbor-side warehouses.
Guided by a symbolic interpretation of a fantastic nature, Area-17 designed the concept for a chain of pilates studios in Korea.
The Cocoon Boutique is located inside the Times Square Mall, in the heart of Shanghai’s shopping center, where tourists and residents crowd into stores at all hours of the day. The brand’s very name gave Area-17 the creative hint to design the concept: a cocoon is a casing protecting the pupa before it becomes a butterfly.

The extension of the Val di Chienti Shopping Mall has been the occasion to rethink the very identity of the mall. The redesign by Area-17 and INRES moved from the need of having a more efficient circulation and a better accesses organization.
Area-17 uses color to enhance commercial planning through the redesign of the Zhenghou Mall in Zhenghou, a provincial capital in east-central China.
Area-17 collaborated with INRES to develop the new format for FiorFiore stores. FiorFiore is Coop’s premium private label, featuring the finest traditional products from Italian and worldwide food culture. FiorFiore Concept Store is meant to be a food boutique, where the high quality of design, materials, and skilled craftsmanship are metaphors for the excellence of the products on sale.
